In General

The 11+ is an exam your child will need to sit to get into a grammar school, which is a type of government-owned school that is 'selective', meaning you have to pass a test to get in.

The 11+ varies by county, so a test in Buckinghamshire can look very different from a test in Gloucestershire.

It can also vary by school, which means that within a county individual schools can set their own exams.

In Gloucestershire

In Gloucestershire, all 7 grammar schools (known as the G7) use the same test. There is one test your child will sit which will enable them to apply to all the grammar schools in Gloucestershire.
